What is Sexual Enrichment Couples Counselling

Sexual Enrichment Couples Counselling is for couples that want to focus on the sexual side of their relationship and are already in a good relationship. This can include couples that communicate well or that have been to marriage counselling previously). It is not for those that are just recently experienced a breach of trust such as infidelity or currently experiencing trauma. It may help erotic recovery after an affair once a couple is ready to connect physically again. Relationship counselling rather than sex therapy would be a better option for those with trauma prior to embarking on a program that focuses on sexual intimacy. What you learn with sexual enhancement couples counselling

Each couple is very different and each session may cover a different topic. Counselling is a mixture of psych-education and 1:1 exercises. Examples of what might be covered in counselling may include:

  • Uncovering your desires
  • Ability to express your desires freely
  • Dissolve blocks to intimacy
  • Tantra techniques
  • Taoist techniques
  • Self-hypnosis for sex techniques
  • All sessions are Kink friendly

Clinical Research on Sexual Enhancement Programs


This study examined 10 married couples from 51 to 71yrs. Results showed significant increases in sexual satisfaction, frequency of sexual activities and positive attitudes about marital and life satisfaction following an education program on sexual functioning and communication exercises.

104 postmenopausal women (aged 40 to 60yrs) a sexual enhancement program improved sexual functioning, arousal and pain. The study concluded that sexual functioning in postmenopausal women can be improved by a sexual enhancement program.

Research explored 30 couples that undertook a sexual enrichment communication-training program. They met for 3hrs, 1 day per week for 4 consecutive weeks. Participants found that affection expression and overall marriage satisfaction was improved by undertaking specific sexual communication training.
